Was the second daughter of Fanny and Smith. Brought up at Pease home farm and oak Grove then damems Road first no. 56 and then no. 54. Began work as a mender at Met Norman while going to work - passed where he worked. Married 1931. Didn't work after she married. Christine born in1934 and Margaret born 1941. Always doing housework - sisters and brothers called her "Doll Dust" Suffered with her nerves. Regular contact with all her brothers and sisters. Looked after Christine's children when Christine wanted to go back to work. Also came over to York every Monday to Friday after Margaret's Twins were born. Often tripping and falling - banged her leg on a divan at George Midgley's - took weeks to heal. Cut her leg on the electric fire. Fell down the garden into the yard and broke her collar-bone Had to have a skin graft on her leg. Very thin skin. Was pretty active for most of her life.
