SUPERB SAMPLER DEBORAH NUNWEEK 1840

This large sampler worked by Deborah Nunweek, dated 1840 measures 25 inches x 20 inches, the frame measures 29 inches x 24 inches. it is veri detailed depicting birds, lions, deer, shepherds and a milkmaid, the verse titled 'Upon Life' reads" lord what is life is like a flower, what blossoms and is gone, we see it flourish fo an hour with all its beauty on . but death comes like a wintry day and cuts the pretty flower away." There are no holes or repair but a few small areas of stain.
